Child Psychology for the Southern Highlands -Supporting parents and
children, together.
Specialist psychological support for children aged 0–12 in Bowral, NSW
Parent and Child Together
We don't just work with children — we work with families. Meaningful, lasting progress happens when parents are supported, informed, and actively involved from the very start.
Clear Age Focus
We specialise in early to middle childhood only and do not work with adolescents. This means our entire practice is focused where it matters most for your child's stage of development.
Evidence-Based, Practical Support
Every approach is grounded in research — including cognitive behaviour therapy, attachment theory, and systemic family therapy — and adapted to suit your child and family's unique needs.
Local and Connected
Merrigang Psychology has been part of the Bowral community since 1999. We're not a chain — we're a specialist practice that knows this region and the families who call it home.

ABOUT MERRIGANG PSYCHOLOGY
Gibraltar House, Bong Bong St, Bowral NSW 2576
At Merrigang Psychology, we provide specialist psychological support for children aged 0–12 years and their families — right here in Bowral, NSW.
Our work is built around a simple belief: children thrive when their parents feel confident, connected, and equipped. That's why every service includes active, meaningful parent involvement — not as an add-on, but as the foundation of everything we do.
The name Merrigang reflects our deep connection to this place — inspired by the Gundungurra language and the native tiger quoll. We're proud to be a genuinely local practice serving the Southern Highlands.

Principal PsychologistKellie-ann has worked as a Clinical Psychologist with children and families in the Southern Highlands since 1999. With over 25 years of specialist experience, she brings a calm, steady approach that helps parents feel confident and children feel genuinely safe.
She has a particular passion for the preschool years, where effective early intervention can meaningfully shape a child's developmental trajectory — building emotional resilience before challenges escalate at school or home.
Kellie-ann helps parents and carers find effective, evidence-based ways to respond to their child's unique needs — and to feel more connected with their children. She is also a Board-Approved Supervisor of psychologists.

WHAT WE TREATWe offer evidence-based psychological therapy focused on the challenges most common in early to middle childhood. Every session is designed to include parents in the process.
Child anxiety and worries
Helping children understand and manage anxious thoughts and feelings, including separation anxiety, social worry, school refusal, and generalised anxiety in young children.
Emotional regulation and behaviour
Supporting children who struggle to manage big emotions or challenging behaviour — including meltdowns, aggression, defiance, and emotional dysregulation at home and school.
Parenting strategies and support
Practical, evidence-based strategies to help parents respond to their child's needs with confidence — building connection and reducing stress and conflict at home.
Strengthening parent-child relationships
Working with families to deepen connection, improve communication, and build trust — particularly where families are navigating stress, change, or difficult early experiences.
Building resilience and confidence
Helping children develop the internal skills they need to handle life's challenges — including self-esteem, coping strategies, and a strong sense of identity and belonging.
Early intervention (0–5 years)
Specialist support during the critical preschool years, where effective early intervention can enhance development and prevent later emotional and behavioural difficulties at school and home.
